PGConf.Asia
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. About This Policy
This privacy policy describes how PGConf.Asia ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit pgconf.asia or create an account to participate in our conference. It covers our use of third-party services for hosting, authentication, and event management.
2. Hosting and Server Logs
This website is hosted on GreenGeeks shared hosting infrastructure. The hosting provider may automatically retain server access logs containing IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and user-agent strings for security, debugging, and operational purposes. PGConf.Asia does not directly access or control those logs. GreenGeeks' privacy policy governs their handling of this data.
3. User Accounts and Authentication
Account creation and authentication are handled by Supabase (supabase.com). When you sign in, a session token is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. Supabase's privacy policy applies to the storage and processing of your authentication data.
We collect only the minimum information needed to identify your account: your name and email address. We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
Supabase is used only for account management, authentication, CFP submissions and reviews, speaker profiles, sponsor administration, and sponsor logo storage. Public conference content remains static on GreenGeeks and is not stored in Supabase.
4. Social Sign-In Providers
You may sign in using the following third-party identity providers:
- Google — Privacy Policy
- GitHub — Privacy Policy
- Facebook — Privacy Policy
- WeChat — Privacy Policy
When you choose one of these providers, you are redirected to their authentication service. Each provider's own privacy policy governs what data they collect during that interaction. PGConf.Asia receives only the basic profile information you authorise — typically your name and email address — via Supabase's OAuth integration. We do not receive your password from any provider.
5. Email Magic Link
If you sign in with a magic link, your email address is stored in Supabase solely to identify your account. We do not use it for marketing communications without your explicit consent. Transactional emails (such as your sign-in link) are sent by Supabase on our behalf.
6. Cookies and Tracking
This site does not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics scripts. No personal data is shared with advertisers. The only browser storage used is Supabase's authentication session token stored in local storage on your device.
7. Conference Data Stored in Supabase
The CFP system stores only the fields needed to manage proposals: speaker profile details, proposal title, abstract, track, level, duration, reviewer scores and reviewer comments. The sponsor system stores only the fields needed to publish and administer sponsor listings: company name, website, short description, sponsor level, logo URL, visibility, sorting, and internal contact details when needed for sponsor coordination.
We avoid storing static website content, analytics events, server logs, or unrelated attendee browsing data in Supabase. Conference registration and volunteer systems may use separate services in the future; if so, their privacy terms will be linked from the relevant submission page before those forms are activated.
8. Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your account's existence and for a reasonable period thereafter in accordance with Supabase's data retention policies. You may request deletion at any time (see section 10).
9. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Your Rights and Contact
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data PGConf.Asia holds about you. To exercise these rights, or if you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact the organising committee at the email address published on the About page.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
